COMM - Practice 7. Analysis of multimedia communication projects

How is the structure solved? Indicate the main sections of the website architecture.
The structure of the websites consists in :

The Home page

three different sections:

It also have links that allow the creation of an original cookie ( this will be explained later on).

Which information formats have been used in each section (text, hypertext, images, audio, video)?
In the project Be Cookie there are various formats that have been used, this formats include images in all of the sections because each time a section is shown like for example "rock & cookies" or "fashion & cookies" there is an image of the cookie that represents the person. Furthermore we can see this images are a good representation of the persons personality or hobbie for example Rafael Nadal and his cookie shows a tennis ball. We can also see that under esach section there is text that describes that cookie. There is also a section that provides audio and at the same time allows the user to "stop" or "play" the music.
What other resources, such as chronologies, maps, infographics, photo galleries and videos, etc. have been used?
There are not many resources other than images that are used.  The only method is that the photogallery in the homepage is well shown as animated images, therefore while the home page is being viewed the images will be scrolling sideways in the page. At the same time on the other area of the page, where animated images are also used but in a different form since they are used in text. There are also hyperlinks being used under the section of "creating a new cookie" or "the original cookies". This will appear as hyperlinks because it provides "click here" and therefore when clicking it takes you to another page where the activity will be released.

How can the users participate? What kind of interactivity and navigation mechanisms are provided?.
The user can participate in the way that in the bottom of the project there are two options. One of them allowing the user to "create their own cookie". This allows user participation because it allows the user to decide the shape of the cookie for example a star. Choosing the topping from a variety of flavours like chocolate, strawberry or vanilla and then selecting more extra toppings from cookie crisps etc.

How is the content being updated?
The content of the project in my personal opinion is that this should be updated. For example giving more sections not only sport, rock or fashion but also into different suctions such as movies, other types of music etc. Also during the genre that was already established they could have more examples of people. Another way to extend the sections will be to have more variety when it comes to creating a personal cookie. I think this because they only have two possible designs and it somehow shows that this area is less developed because of all the examples of cookies that are seen in the other sections. This can be a problem because when a user tries to create their own cookie they might have a great idea but too little resources to create it.

Does the project include social media resources (Web 2.0)? Which ones and what´s their purpose?

The project uses Web 2.0 since it uses social networks such as Facebook, Twitter etc. The main idea of the use of this social networking sites is that it shows before portraying the icons of the social networking the sentence ´´ Who are we´´. Beacuse of this we can know that the main purpose is that people who see the project can also follow this main concept not only in the projects website bur rather than that under their own profile in Facebook or other social networking sites. If Be Cookie has a profille in this websites then their information will also be displayed in this sites and therefore more people will be able to access the information. By this, I mean that it will provide a wider audience.

I think that the project is very original, each section is well developed. By this I mean that the three sections on sports, rock and fashion have the same amount of work put into it. Moreover, as stated before I believe that the project could have been better by having different options when it comes to customer participation, in other words having other alternatives when designing the cookie.

COMM- Interactivity Practice

ControlTitle of selected website: Blackberry
http://http//www.blackberry.com/
This will be a good example fo a website that allos the user to control and regulate the system because once a user enters the website, it asks for the region. Selecting from a list such as Europe, America, Asia, etc  will have different languages and therefore the user can access the website in a language that they can understand.

Feedback
Title of selected website: cnet download
http://download.cnet.com/windows/
This will be a good example for feedback because it is an example of a website that allows a user to do something more than just a search engine, this is because it allows a user to download different programs into their computer. This is an example of feedback because once a program is downloading a window will indicate for example that 29% is already downloaded, therefore it provides feedback to the user of how much time is remaining for the download to be complete etc.

Productivity
Title of selected website: The Weather Channel
http://www.weather.com/
The weather channel is a good example of a productivity website because it allows users to check weather forecastes in various parts of the world, as well as searching for forecasts on storms, hurricanes etc.

Creativity
Title of selected website: Flashpaint
http://www.flashpaint.com/
Flashpaint will be a good example of a creativity website because this will allow the user to use their own ideas to create a specific image like a cartoon etc. this is a website that will be useful for interactivity because there is no design template, therefore the user can draw or create their original ideas from scratch.

Adaptivity
Title of selected website: Twitter
http://www.twitter.com/
Twitter is a good example because since it is a social networking website it will allow each user to personalize their page with their name, status, picture etc. Therefore this will make them unique from other user in the same webpage.

Communications
Title of selected website: Wikispaces
http://www.wikispaces.com/
Wikispaces is a good example for communication because it is a common website used for Web 2.0, this will be a good source for communication since it allows teachers to communicate with students. For example a wiki can be used for a specific course, all lesson material can be published in this web for students to access and at the same time they can comment on the wiki and have a discussion with the teacher.
